As diversity becomes the norm within the cosmetic industry, have we ignored the importance of it within the skincare industry? That is what Obagi brings to light with its new initiative, ‘Skinclusion’.
The diversity in PÜR Cosmetics’ top management has had a strong impact on their products and shade ranges, most notably on their most recent launch of over 100 shades of foundation. The brand is the perfect example for how, when inclusivity starts at the top, innovation and a successful product will follow.
Issa Rae’s star has been on the rise for many years, and has been photographed for some of the country’s most prominent magazines, including the absolutely gorgeous April cover of Essence Magazine. But, as Twitter user @saintfadumo pointed out, there is a striking difference between Issa’s Essence photograph and last year’s TIME 100 image.
The first installment from the campaign, for which Crosse and Michael served as creative directors with assistance from acclaimed hair stylist Yancey Edwards and stylist Steffany Allen, is a photo shoot (shot by Ken Robinson) that features models of different sizes, ages, and races. The social media campaign highlights these models in an editorial manner to shutdown the notion that beauty comes in one package.
